CASDP is creating an advisory committee in order to benefit from the counsel of a broad range of organisations and expertise. The advisory committee will draw upon the advice, support and recommendations of individuals and specific organisations who share the mission of the Centre and will be actively committed to shaping and advancing the Centre's programme of work.

Participants will include representatives drawn from UN institutions, UN-defined major groups, IGOs, governments and other organisations with active sustainable development programmes. The advisory committee is in the process of being built up and currently includes representatives from the International Chamber of Commerce, the International Federation of Agricultural Producers, the International Conference of Free Trade Unions and the UNEP Youth Advisory Council.

The advisory committee will be convened on an ad hoc basis as necessary. It will also provide on-going counsel and assistance to CASDP programmes through online conferencing tools. Additionally, the advisory committee may be called upon to serve on various CASDP project steering committees, such as the one proposed for Partnerships Central.
